Another great episode of Tyler Perry’s series The Haves and the Have Nots came on! We get to see what happened after the car crash, a sweet father and son moment, truth about our dearly departed character, and the family reunion we have been waiting for since the show aired! You don’t wanna miss it!
You ‘ll kick yourself if you missed last week; check that out first! The Haves and the Have Nots 2015 Recap: S3 E17 – Candice Young, Esq.
If you saw that week’s recap you’ll remember that Benny Young and Quincy Young were just in a crash. This week the episode starts out with Benny crawling out of the car. Just when we thought that Benny was the only one who made it out, Quincy also comes crawling out. I’m pretty sure this wasn’t part of Benny’s plan, so he starts beating Quincy up. Benny eventually starts going through Quincy’s pockets and finds a picture of his sister – Benny’s wheels start turning and remembers that he knows where she lives. Finally Benny calls 911, posing as Quincy and asking for help. When Benny gets off the phone, he sticks something in Quincy’s pocket and leaves. Later the cops come, but Quincy was able to get away and hide in the woods behind the wreck, overhearing that the cops found crystal meth (the same drugs Benny got from War).
After Benny leaves the wreck, he follows Quincy’s sister and busts into her apartment, asking about little Quincy. Quincy’s sister tries to jump at him, but Benny just flicked her off like a fly and busts into a bedroom – there’s the little boy, along with a bunch of other kids! Benny tells him that he’s his uncle and asks him if he wants to see his mama. Little Quincy says he doesn’t remember Benny, but says that his mama doesn’t want him (Quincy’s already started the brainwashing, I see). Quincy’s sister keeps making threats, but Benny just grabs little Quincy and walks out.
Then we switch and catch up with Candice Young, who is on her way to meet Oscar so they can go to New York. We know he’s headed to New York on business, and Candice believes him, but she’s still cautious. When they arrive at their hotel suite, Candice tries to put Oscar on blast, alleging that he brought her here because he wants her to be his other investor. Oscar sets her straight real quick, letting her know that the money it costs to get them to New York was more than Candice has in her bank account, so have several seats. Welp…Lol.
Later they go on a horse-and-buggy ride. Candice tells him that, no matter how she tries to get away from it, she just can’t escape her past and that’s why she is the way she is now. Candice is just putty in Oscar’s hands.
Finally we get to catch up with Jeffrey Harrington, who has arrived at the campaign headquarters to meet with David Harrington. David gives Jeffrey some new credit cards, and Jeffrey gives David some tough love, asking him, “When are you going to see mom for who she really is? She’s evil! We’ve told you and you’ve seen it with your own eyes. Let her go!’ David still tries to defend his wife, but lets Jeffrey know that he knows he’s telling him the truth and that he’s right. Then Jeffrey drops a bomb – he tells David that he should be with Maggie Day. He knows David never cheated on his mom, but he still co-signs the idea, in a sense. But the scene goes on with David and Jeffrey talking like father and son, and Jeffrey being honest about how he felt about Wyatt. It was nice to see them talking and being able to be open, as a parent should be with their child. Then Jeffrey drops another bomb on David – he spills the beans about Melissa being pregnant and the whole fiasco, as controlled by Veronica Harrington.
Back at the Cryer house, Katheryn Cryer is going through Amanda Cryer’s things. While she’s looking, Hanna Young walks in and offers to help her. Katheryn tells her she’s searching for Amanda’s diary. Hanna tells her she’ll look for it, and Katheryn heads out of the room to take a break for a while. Hanna eventually finds the diary and delivers it to Katheryn. When Katheryn reads that the rape was true, she calls Jim to confirm it.
Maggie shows up at the campaign headquarters and shows David the headline in the newspaper about the fire (it said something about how the fire was caused by a lamp or something), further solidifying the fact that Maggie is the white Olivia Pope. Maggie asks him again about Veronica trying to kill him, and David defends her again. When Maggie asks if she’s having an affair, David says it’s nonsense and that she would never do such a thing (if only he knew, huh?).
Later Jim Cryer shows up to the campaign office, much to everyone’s surprise. When Maggie leaves, David asks Jim about Wyatt Cryer. Of course, Jim tells him he’s in jail and the whole situation with that. Then Jim talks to him about how Jennifer Sallison wants to meet with the four of them.
The we get to Veronica! She’s back at the tow yard. She gets on the phone and calls Benny, who doesn’t respond (because he was in his truck waiting for Quincy’s sister to show up). So she leaves a message, hangs up,and calls again – this time he answers the phone. She claims that she has some papers he needs to sign so that his recent arrest won’t on his record…..sure,sure. You know she didn’t hang up the phone without suggesting that they “hang out” again sometime (*Gag*). But what Veronica didn’t know was that the private investigator (remember the one Maggie has following her?) was in the background snapping pictures and calling Maggie.
At the end of the Haves and Have Nots episode, Hanna is in the house chilling in the kitchen. When she turns around, she sees Benny and little Quincy standing there. What a sweet way to end the episode!
Now we need to talk, because I have a few #HAHN questions and comments:
– I wonder what is going to happen with Quincy, because obviously Benny didn’t beat him good enough if he was able to muster up the strength to hide from the cops.
– Why didn’t anyone talk to Quincy’s sister before? I would have been asking her questions a long time ago!
– Everyone is saying that Oscar was hired by David to break Candice down, but is he truly falling for her? I’m confused…..
– I still wanna know if Wyatt is Katheryn’s son or not! What about Amanda?
